A Suffering That Leaves a Blessing upon Your Life

[13] “And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? [14] But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.” — 1 Peter 3:13-14 NKJV

In this world, I’ve noticed that when you stand to do good to people no matter what, others will tell you you’re foolish. Many people I’ve interacted with don’t see the essence of paying large sums of money to see the ministry move forward in impact. They think too selfishly about their lives, so much so that God’s work is secondary to them. And that’s tragic for their lives. Why? Because if they die without any kingdom input, they’ll have no eternal inheritance in heaven.

The apostle said in 1 Peter 3:13-14 that nobody will harm you when you become followers of what’s good – that is, Christ. In other words, nobody can plunge the faith of Christ in your spirit out. But for suffering in the flesh (physical life) because of that same faith, blessed are you when you go through them. That means enduring suffering for Jesus’ sake is the only kind of suffering that leaves a blessing upon your life, nothing else. For example, anybody can be hungry at one time or another. But the one who endures hunger to preach Jesus is blessed.

Friend, be thus conscious that the world is not your friend. You’ll not get a bit of good from the world. It’s only God who keeps supplying good things from the unending riches of His grace to people, including the unsaved. He’s the one that inspires hearts to give to you, not they themselves. Quit having issues with people because of one or more disappointing things they did. Summon them to Jesus in prayer, and let Him discipline them. You’ll see that things will turn out for your good.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer:

Father, I pray in the name of Jesus, inspire hearts to keep supplying whatever You’ve ordained them to do for me to fulfil divine purpose. I also receive grace to endure suffering for the cause of the gospel, that Your name will be glorified in the end. Amen.
