A Generous Person will Prosper

“A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” — Proverbs 11:25 NIV

One proven way of receiving handsome rewards is, giving to those in need. Luke 6:38 says,

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Luke 6:38 NIV

Love is kind, and because of this, it’s generous. If you’re born again, God lives in you (Romans 8:9, 1 John 4:4), and that means, His love dwells in you. You possess that nature of kindness and generosity. But the question is, are you living it?

A generous person will prosper, says the scriptures. Simply put, the one who practices generosity out of the love of God will experience prosperity. That’s an assurance from God. But you may ask, what if I have so little that I can’t give to others?

Well, it’s not about how much or little you have. It’s about practising generosity with whatever you have, despite the amount. You may not have enough money, but you can encourage someone, speak God’s Word of life to a brokenhearted person, or even dash out some clothes you’re no longer wearing. There are always things in your life you can use to practise generosity. It doesn’t always have to be money.

Don’t withhold your seed. When you see a need and it’s in your capacity to give, do so as inspired by the Lord. For the Word says in Proverbs 19:17 that,

Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.

Proverbs 19:17 NIV

God is not like a man who receives lending without rewards. He’ll reward you for your generosity, not only because you helped them but because He’s faithful to His Word.

You’re a blessing.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, help me to be humble and be able to see opportunities to demonstrate Your unfailing love through others in need by practising generosity. Amen!
