Two Prerequisites to Seeing the Manifestation of God in Life

Don’t you want to see God doing supernatural exploits in your life? If not you, I want it badly. And it’s by grace, not by any human strength.

However, many people experience delays in several areas of life, not because they don’t pray or pursue intimacy with God, but because they neglect these two things I want to speak to you about today. These things are two prerequisites to seeing the manifestation of God in life. And they are found in Hebrews 12:14 NKJV, which says,

“Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:”

From the above verse, we’re reminded that in order to see God’s doings in our lives (not necessarily going to heaven), we are to pursue peace with all people as well as holiness.

#1 Pursue peace

Peace in Hebrews 2:14 means quietness or rest. It can be pursued with all people. How? By learning how to forgive quickly, even if you have a point to prove to the offender, and also resolving conflicts and disagreements among the people you mingle with. That involves being willing to listen to opposing viewpoints and putting efforts into understanding and empathising with others.

The Bible says in Romans 12:18 NKJV that,

“If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.”

You have a responsibility to guard the peace Jesus has left you with all diligence (see John 14:27). Forgive fast because when you do, it frees you from guilt and gives God space to do wondrous works in your life through people.

#2 Pursue holiness

Holiness is usually confused with righteousness. Righteousness speaks of your right identity before the face of God because of Jesus’ atonement for your sins. But holiness is about your character.

The word “holiness” in Hebrews 12:14 means purity. So God wants you to live from a pure heart such that you’ll not have any evil intention for doing everything in your life. That confirms what Jesus said in Matthew 5:8 NKJV.

“Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.”

Living a life of selflessness, showing kindness and mercy to others, can be done when you are determined to pursue holiness in all your ways by divine enablement. And I can guarantee you success in God when you live with this mindset.

Be empowered and encouraged to live godly lives in this fallen world. You’re a blessing.
